Begin a relationship with Jesus

Jesus didn’t just come to teach or perform miracles.
He came so that you could know God personally. The Bible says, For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23) Every one of us has done wrong things that separate us from a holy God. But God loves us so much that He made a way to bring us back to Him.

When Jesus died on the cross,
He took the punishment that we deserve for our sins. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8) Then three days later, Jesus rose from the dead to offer us new life — a life filled with peace, forgiveness, and hope that lasts forever. As He said in John 11:25, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.

Knowing Jesus isn’t about joining a church

or following a set of rules. It’s about starting a real relationship with Him. That begins when you:

1. Admit that you’ve sinned and need God’s forgiveness.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)

2. Believe that Jesus died for you and rose again.
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. (Romans 10:9)

3. Call on Him in prayer, asking Him to forgive your sin and come into your life as your Lord and Saviour.
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13)

You can do that right now — wherever you are.
There’s no special formula, but you could pray something like this:

“Dear God, I know that I’ve sinned, and I’m sorry. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for me and rose again. I ask You to forgive me, save me, and change me, and I repent of my sins. I want to follow You from this day forward. Thank You for loving me. In Jesus’ name, amen.”

If you’ve just prayed that and meant it from your heart,
Jesus has saved you. Your past is forgiven, and you now belong to God’s family forever.
