What's Next?

If you’ve trusted Jesus as your Saviour,
that’s the greatest decision you will ever make! You now belong to God’s family, and your new life in Christ is just beginning. The Bible says, Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
(2 Corinthians 5:17).

So what comes next?
Here are a few important steps to help you grow in your relationship with God:

1. Spend Time in God’s Word
The Bible is how God speaks to us. It helps us learn who He is, what He’s done for us, and how to live for Him each day. As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: (1 Peter 2:2) Start by reading a few verses each day. The Gospel of John is a great place to begin — it tells more about who Jesus is and what He came to do. As you read, ask God to help you understand and apply His Word to your life.

2. Talk to God in Prayer
Prayer is simply talking to God. You don’t have to use fancy words — He wants to hear your heart. Thank Him for saving you, ask for His help in your daily life, and share your struggles and joys with Him.
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. (Philippians 4:6) The more you talk with God, the more you’ll sense His peace and guidance in your life.

3. Connect with a Bible-Believing Church
You weren’t meant to follow Jesus alone. God designed us to grow together in a local church — a place where you can worship, learn, and serve alongside other believers. Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together… but exhorting one another: (Hebrews 10:25)
Find a church that teaches the Bible clearly and points people to Jesus. Being part of a church family will help you stay encouraged and grow strong in your faith.

4. Follow the Lord in Baptism
Baptism doesn’t save you — it’s an outward symbol of what has already happened in your heart. When you’re baptized, you’re publicly showing that you belong to Jesus and want to follow Him. Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: (Acts 2:41a) If you’ve trusted Christ, talk with your pastor about taking this next step of obedience.

5. Share Your Story
Now that you’ve experienced God’s forgiveness, don’t keep it to yourself! Tell others what Jesus has done for you. Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, (Mark 5:19a) You don’t have to know all the answers — just share your story and how Jesus changed your life. God can use your words to touch someone else’s heart.

You’re Not Alone
Walking with Jesus is a lifelong journey, and He will be with you every step of the way. I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. (Hebrews 13:5)
